You can't vote in November if you're not registered – and today's your last day to register. (Adrian Clark/Flickr Creative Commons)
You're cutting it close – really, really close – if you're eligible to vote but haven't yet: You have until midnight tonight.
But Los Angeles City Councilwoman Jan Perry is simplifying the process for South Central residents – she's hosting an all-day voter registration drive at her field office on South Central Avenue that began at 5 a.m. this morning and will continue until the end of the workday, 5 p.m.
"It is not too late to register to vote," said Perry in a statement. "This is an election of national importance that will determine the next four years of leadership here in our country. And, just as important, it is an important opportunity to vote on local initiatives that will directly affect our community."
You won't be able to do any of that, though, if you're not registered. Here are the essentials:
To register online: Go here.
To register at Perry's voter registration drive: Visit Perry and her staff at:
South Los Angeles City Hall
4301 South Central Avenue
Los Angeles, CA 90011
Monday, Oct. 22 from 5 a.m. to 5 p.m.
To see what's going to appear on your ballot and learn more about who and what you're voting for: Go to myballot.kpcc.org and put in your address.
