The Los Angeles Times is reporting that a man and a woman shot and killed near USC early Wednesday morning were students attending the university from China.
The shooting occurred at about 1 a.m. in the 2700 block of Raymond Avenue near 27th Street in what police are saying was a possible attempted robbery. According to the Times, officials said both victims – described as Asians in their early '20s – were shot at least one time in their car, a BMW.
Both were taken to California hospital where they were pronounced dead.
Police are withholding their names until their families are notified, and as of press time investigators had not released a suspect description.

Thank you for a more reliable and accurate story than the one posted by Erika Aguilar on the kpcc.org website. She has not taken the trouble to verify the name of someone she reports as deceased, but went ahead and published it. It is wrong and should be taken down immediately.
